How to Use the Outside Monitoring Diagnostic Tool

1. Download the “Outside Monitoring Diagnostic Tool” from below.

2. Double-click the downloaded file, and run the program.


3. The settings screen appears. Check the settings, and click the “Start” button.


4. A diagnosis number is displayed. Check the description corresponding to the number in the diagnosis result list below.

  • The diagnostic tool has ended successfully. No problem was found.

  • Diagnosis cannot be executed properly due to the security software.
  • Disable the security software temporarily before running the program.
    (Make sure to enable the security software again after you have run the program.)

  • Check whether the wireless LAN in use “supports UPnP”.
    (Refer to the instruction manual for your wireless LAN router, or consult the router manufacturer.)
  • If the wireless LAN router in use supports UPnP, enable the UPnP feature.

  • Run the diagnostic tool upon ensuring that the PC can be connected to the Internet.
  • If problematic symptoms occur despite being able to connect to the Internet, allow some time before running the diagnostic tool again.

  • Unable to determine whether the wireless LAN router in use can enable “port conversion (80)”. Check with the wireless LAN manufacturer on whether it is possible to enable “port conversion” via UPnP.

  • Check whether the PC can be connected to the Internet.
  • If problematic symptoms occur despite being able to connect to the Internet, you will not be able to monitor images via the Internet using the wireless LAN router.

  • Check with your Internet service provider on whether “a global IP address is assigned” under the service contract. For apartment-type Internet service contracts, please consult the administrator of your apartment.
  • If a global IP address can be acquired, there is a possibility that multiple routers may be connected at home. (The modem that is installed upon conclusion of the Internet service contract may be equipped with a router feature.)
    If additional wireless LAN routers not under the same Internet service contract are installed, disable the router function of the wireless LAN router.
    (For information on ways to disable the router function, please refer to the instruction manual for the wireless LAN router in use, or consult the router manufacturer.)

*Caution

  • Connect the PC to the wireless LAN router to which the camcorder is connected. If the camcorder and the PC are connected to different wireless LAN routers, the result of the diagnostic tool may differ from the actual result.
  • The diagnostic tool may not run properly if a security software is installed. The diagnostic tool may not run properly on a PC installed with a security software. In this case, disable the security software temporarily before running the program. (Make sure to enable the security software again after you have run the program.)
  • The diagnosis result is only a rough indication. Please note that even when no problem was found during the diagnosis, connection may fail depending on the device in use or environment of use.
