1. General

Q What is Image Converter?
A Image Converter is the software for producing images to display on your JVC Car Audio with PICT. Image Converter generates a movie file or a picture file from movie or picture files you have.
Q What are the systems requirements of Image Converter?
A Image Converter's systems requirements are as follows:
OS: Microsoft® Windows® 2000, Windows® XP
CPU: Pentium® III 450 MHz or higher recommended or an equivalent
Memory: 128 MB RAM or more (256 MB or more is recommended)
Display device: Display device capable of 1024 x 768 resolution 16 bit colour (65536 colours) or better (24 bit colour or more is recommended)
Disk drive: CD-ROM drive for installation
Others: Internet Explorer 6 or later
Q What kind of images does Image Converter use as source?
A Refer to the table below.

Importable files file extension Maximum importable size of a file (approx.)
Movie AVI file .avi 100MB
Still JPEG file .jpg, .jpeg 5MB
Bitmap file .bmp 12MB
PNG file .png 10MB
Q What kind of images does Image Converter create?
A With Image Converter, you can create movies and pictures. You can choose the size of the images from LARGE and SMALL.
LARGE image: The image can be shown as the display background.
SMALL image: The image is displayed like a CD jacket.
Q Are image samples available?
A The Image Converter CD-ROM (supplied with Image Converter compatible models) contains some sample images (*.jpa, *.jpb, *.jpl, *.jpm). You can also download more sample files from this site.
Q Image Converter does not start...?
A Uninstall Image Converter, and install it again.
Q Unexpected black borders appear on the movie.
A Black borders may appear on the movie when the source image size is small and the start rectangle and the end rectangle are different in size.
Image Converter generates the frame-in-between automatically. It fills the lack of image with black when a generated frame laps out of the source image.
To avoid the black borders, expand all the source images to 256x64 (pixels) or larger with the Size box on the "Source image" screen.
Q The image created with Image Converter looks different from the one appearing on the screen before saving...?
A Image Converter compresses the data when saving, so that the hue of the created image may look different from the one appearing on the screen before saving.
Q The Operation guide is not printed out properly...?
A The Operation guide can be printed out properly with Internet Explorer 6 or later.
Check the version of Internet Explorer on your PC.

5. Using PICT on your head unit

Q Can the files created with this Image Converter (Color ver. 2.0) be used for any JVC Car Audio?

Q It takes a long time to import a movie or picture into JVC Car Audio...?
A When the file size is larger, it takes more time to import the file. It may take about 10 minutes to import a file of maximum size.
