A. Aside to selecting thumbnails, there are two other methods that allow you to select multiple files.

CTRL+ click
Click on desired files one by one while holding CTRL.

Rectangle selection
Click a place where there are no thumbnails and drag your mouse over files you want to select while holding down mouse button. Consequently, rectangular-shaped pink frame will appear and all the files within the range of this frame shall be selected.
